This has been an incredible learning journey for me.
I’m honored and overjoyed that you have put your trust in me to serve West Vancouver School Board.
Together, we will continue to work hard to ensure excellence in our school system. Together, we will build a more inclusive community for every student and help them to reach their potential.
I commit to being open-minded and enjoy listening to your stories and perspectives!
😎 Fun fact about me - I love to travel. I visited the Maasai village in Kenya in 2008 and drove to Tuktoyaktuk in 2018!

West Vancouver School District has more than 7000 students, with 40% self-reporting their home language is not English. According to the school district data, 14.6% speak Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese or other dialects), 14.2% speak Farsi, and 2% speak Korean at home. If the core of democracy is fair representation, it's my hope that our students' cultural diversity can be reflected on the WVSD governance board, as I believe diversity and inclusion are essential to building a more vital, resilient and sustainable education system.
My foreign education background and immigrant experience enabled me to examine our school system from a fresh perspective. If elected, I will embrace and celebrate the great achievement of our school district. I will also dedicate myself to diligently listening to varying voices, and work closely with fellow trustees and our staff, to ensure excellence and maintain public faith in our school system.
During the last ten years while living in West Vancouver, I served on various boards and committees. I believe that integrating into the community is necessary for better community understanding. I have built a wonderful support network of friends from our wonderful diversity in ethnicity and backgrounds in West Vancouver. I hope my story can inspire everyone including the new immigrant families to be actively involved and fully engaged in important decision-making in their children’s education and well-being.
I have an excellent work ethic which is key to completing tasks in a diligent and timely manner. I'm passionate, genuine and caring. Above all, I have a great willingness to serve the community.
Vote for me in October - I am READY!
I know of few people who better represent what it means to be a bi-cultural citizen than Felicia Zhu. Her extensive service to our community, her strong belief in the value of education, and her tireless work ethic make her an excellent candidate for school trustee.
--- Geoff Jopson, Former Superintendent of West Vancouver School District
I have had the pleasure of working with Felicia on various West Vancouver School’s District Parent Advisory Council working groups in support of furthering parent education and community enrichment opportunities. Always prepared and professional, Felicia approaches situations with the experience gained from her background in education, community service, lived experience both as a new Canadian and supporting immigrant families in our community, and as a parent of students currently attending public schools in our district. I endorse Felicia for School Board Trustee, as her wide experience and associations provide her with the ability to broadly represent parents in the West Vancouver school community.
--- Kelly Richter, Past Chair, West Vancouver DPAC
Like thousands of immigrants looking forward to an improved life for myself and my family, we arrived in Canada shortly after my second child was born. After briefly living in various cities in the lower mainland area, we researched and discovered the beautiful community of West Vancouver.
West Vancouver is one of the highest-performing school districts in Canada. I am proud to enroll my children here and I will strive to serve the goal of ensuring the excellence in our school system by:
